„N-am pe nimeni, sunt bolnavă, tocmai am venit de la spital, de la nişte analize. Pe 11 sau 12 februarie mă internez la Căminul de bătrâni de pe strada Eminescu, că nu mai pot altfel. Trebuia să mă duc mai devreme, dar internarea s-a amânat din nu ştiu ce motiv”, a declarat Victorița cu ani în urmă.
A fost împreună cu Țiriac un an
Ion Țiriac și Victorița Dumitrescu au avut o relație de iubire în anul 1965, timp de un an. Deși toți spuneau că fac un cuplu formidabil, cei doi s-au despărțit. „Au fost aproape un an împreună, le stătea tare bine, deşi Ion te speria, la prima vedere, cu aspectul lui mai «fioros».
Nu erau ei foarte tineri, Victoriţa parcă împlinise 29 de ani, Ion avea şi el vreo 26”, a declarat la acel moment Ana Stark-Stănișel, fostă colegă a Victoriței Dumitrescu. Regretata campioană mondială este înmormântată în cimitirul Lizeanu.
